Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Police Scanner taped phone calls

My mother in law used a police scanner to listen to my phone calls for 15 years. Many of the conversations were taped so she could use them against me later on. I know this is federal wire taping & is criminal. Can I sue her in civil court? If so, what charges? Maybe invasion of privacy? She is quite wealthy & I would like her to compensate me for her wrongdoing. Thank you.

Re: Police Scanner taped phone calls

You need to consult an attorney before you go trying to do something like this yourself. Good luck.
