Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Stolen Property while in Storage

Military move, property was in storage, when asked for property, was told it was stolen. No police report filed (company said that they did) now they are refusing to talk with us. Do we need an attorney to get the money owed and if so what kind of attorney should we retain?

Re: Stolen Property while in Storage

If your property was valued at $5K or less, you could sue the storage company for damages in small claims court without an attorney, However, if your losses are substantially in excess of that amount, you'll most likely neeed to retain the services of counsel.
