Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

I751 slow and cant renew driver's license

My wife and I submitted an I751 for her green card, but her drivers license expires this Friday. Anyway, the DMV would only issue a license up to the Green card date, and without the I-751 submission and her permanent resident status, she can't seem to do anything about this. Having a valid license is essential for her because she is a speech therapist and drives from patient to patient. What should she do in the interim?

Does she have the receipt from USCIS?Once you file the I-751,USCIS generally issues a receipt notice indicating that her green card is extended at least for a year, pending the final decision (therefore, since she has not gotten a denial, she has not lost her status). If it has been more than a year, she should make an infopass appointment at the USCIS District Office and bring her receipt to see if they can stamp her passport. Good luck!
