Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia

Hi,

My son was recently T-boned in an accident where he was not at fault. The insurance adjuster totaled it and began making offers. My son has an aftermarket stereo in the vehicle, and I just wanted to know if this (or any other modifications for that matte) would be covered by the at-fault driver's insurance, or would we have to go to small claims?

Thank you.

You can certainly attempt to negotiate with the adjuster a settlement that would

include the value of any items of personal property that were damaged or rendered useless as a result of the accident, but whether the adjuster will agree, of course, is an entirely different matter. However, if you and your son remain unsatisfied with whatever is being presented as the insurance company's final offer, then your alternative is to sue for the damages for which you hope

to be compensated.
