Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

-cchild attacked by dogs

7 year old attacked and bitten by the neighbor's rottweiller. The child was playing in her front yard when 2 rottweiller came into her yard. One dog circled her to prevent her from running and tg=the other attacked her ( biting through her winter coat and arm). She had to have stitched both internal and external. As far as we know the dogs were not rabid.

There would be a claim against the owners of the dogs for negligence IF the owners knew of the dangerous propensities of the dogs. A prior incident, or other evidence of dangerousness, would be necessary.

Check for local leash law. Take photographs of coat and injury.
