Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

One more question

With the Officer absent, was it the right decision to plead ''NO CONTEST'' or should my wife had pleaded ''NOT GUILTY'' as she originally desired. The charge was speeding 67/45 however she was not travelling anywhere near that speed. The judge gave her ''Failure to obey a highway sign.'' w/ a $60 fine plus the court fee of $60 = $120.00.

Re: One more question

NOT GUILTY. Noone (in my view) should plead guilty

to something she or he didn't do.

Failure to Obey a Highway Sign is also a moving violation which carries a few points for

your wife's DMV record and may result in somewhat higher insurance premiums for her in the coming year.
