Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Reckless Driving

This is about my son. He is 21, and he lives in his own place. He already has a Reckless Driving conviction on his record. He presently has a Reckless Driving charge pending; speeding, a little over 20 mph above the speed limit, on an interstate hwy. He faces that in November. Before that, this month, he is facing another Reckless Driving charge, in addition to a Following Too Close, and Failure To Control Vehicle; all on the same ticket. In this one, on a city street, an accident was involved. He swerved to avoid rear ending a car, but still ended up rear ending another vehicle, which then hit another vehicle in front of it. So, he hit one, which hit another, when it was bumped forward. No injuries, or any serious. No claims as far as I know. Only, my son's friend, in the passenger seat, was taken to a hospital to be checked. So, what might my son be facing, what things, what potentialities? And, yes, he does have a lawyer. Thank you.
