Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

When a new deed is made, which is the legal date of transfer of the property?

A. the date the new deed is signed & notarized or

B. the date the new deed is recorded?

Also, can I make my own Power of Atty to someone by tying & forming it by an old one & then having it notarized?

If this is not FREE information, please disregard.

Thank you.

When the deed is signed and delivered to the person receiving the real estate.

There is no requirement for a deed to be recorded, ever, but you are at risk if it is not recorded. There are important legal benefits to recording the deed . But it is not a requirement for transfer of the property.

You can create your own power of attorney, but there is no way of knowing if the situations will be actually the same.
