Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Wills

i am in possession of a vehicle that was left to be by a family member who passed away. The insurance is still in my deceased family members name because the executor of the will refuses to sign over the car. I have been paying the insurance and I have the title. Does the executor of the will have the right to take the car before the will is executed?

Re: Wills

The executor of the will must account for all property in the estate of the deceased and to distribute such property according to the intent of the will being probated or otherwise dispose of it in keeping with the Commonwalth's laws governing such matters. (If the vehicle was not given to you as a gift prior to the passing of this family member, it should be turned over to the executor for appropriate action.)
