Legal Question in Disability Law in Washington

Can H.R. ignore a letter from your doctor?

Doctor wrote: as soon as accommodations are in place she can begain to increase her hours worked and number of days worked. Their response to this was that they were not going to approve any of them. One of the things I asked for was a certain type of software I was told that it was not compatible with their systems. This is an outright lie. I use this Software at home and I know its capabilities. It cant be the cost, because its around $99, and this is a global company. Theyve even gone as far as denying a colored piece of plastic to place over my monitor screen. They then said, since none of them are going to be approved I would need go back to my regular schedule starting the following Monday.

It sounds like you have a good case. You can start by filing a complaint with the EEOC in Seattle to preserve your right to go to federal court.

Meanwhile, when your doctor wrote up the order for accommodations, I hope that your doctor did this based on reviewing your job description.

Since this is a large company, there must be a process for filing an internal complaint. Do so.

Good luck. You can find employment attorneys at welaweb.org and/or wstla.org

I'm currently not accepting new cases.

Merry
