Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Washington
embezzlement
My wife has been sentenced to 43 months in prison. She took 37 thousand dollars from the company she worked for. They broke it all down by months so she has 8 felonie points now. My question is can they do that is it leagle? She did the same crime to the same company in the same time frame. I have looked at similar cases and people are getting alot less time for stelling alot more money. please help if you can

Re: embezzlement
Both the state and federal courts use sentencing guidelines. However, felons often appeal, and sometimes win (not often). Your wife may be entitled to free legal assistance for the appeal, too.
If you can afford an attorney, be sure to hire someone with expertise and a good success rate in winning criminal appeals.
Sentencing guideline cases are appealed very, very frequently.
Good luck,
