Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

Relocation of non-custodial parent

I am a non-custodial parent currently living in the State of WA, King County where my decree was final. I am planning on relocating due to work in the near future. Do I need to file an intent to relocate or get permission from the custodial parent.

I know that relocating a child you need to file and have permission to relocate outside the school district, but since I am the non-custodial parent and am NOT relocating the children, do I need to file an intent to relocate and get my ex's permission?

Please help...urgent!!!

Re: Relocation of non-custodial parent

Under the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act you don't have to file a notice of relocation. You do need to file an update to your address with Clerk of the Superior Court and with the Support Registry.
