Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Washington

judgment collection in anotehr state

I got a money judgment against a person who is living in Washington state. My questions are; 1. Is there any lawyer who can help me to collect money in washington state or add a lien to this person's home there? 2. How much do you charge? 3 Can your charge be added to the bill of collection to this person? 4. What is the interest rate for judgment? 5. If I got this person' account number in Washington state, can I directly send court order to that bank or Bank supervising agency of Washington state to collect judgement?

I live in NJ. Thank you for your help

Good morning,1)yes, me 2) a lot - kidding, hourly rate is $150, but I'm sure can work something out 3) Maybe - without seeing the judgement I cannot say for certain, but almost always yes - the concept is reciprocity & I'm pretty sure all states have it ... actually I know they do ... 5) No, but you are close ... need to certify judgement in WA, then do a garnishment ... not too difficult, but steps you need to take ... hope I helped [email protected] 206-261-4174 Pete James

Re: judgment collection in anotehr state

There are attorneys willing to take this matter on a contingent fee basis if you will advance the costs. The judgment is collectable. However, you need a certified copy of the judgment from the New Jersey Court. I would be willing to assist you in finding a Washington attorney as part of the contingent fee. How much is the judgment? That will determine whether it is worthwhile to pursue. If I can be of any assistence let me know. Gerald Hershenson Esq. 215-579-9390
