Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Washington

pay day loans

my sister's husband was in a car accident that left him unable to work, and this unable to pay a 470 dollar pay day loan. this loan has been sent to legal mediation, and my sisters husband was informed today this if the 470 dollars is not paid by the end of the business day today, he will be sued for 3000 dollars. is there anything they can claim to get a little more time to come up with the money?

Re: pay day loans

Well, if an attorney were to contact the loan company, I suspect they could work out something. But, more importantly, there is no way a $3000 demand can be made on a $470 loan. Did you mean that a $470 payment was due on a $3000 loan?

Further, if he was the victim and NOT the at fault driver, then it sounds like he has a personal injury case worth pursuing, as long as the at fault other driver and/or registered owner has insurance, or has assets and income that would justify going after them. If so, have him contact me asap to discuss the facts and what can be done for him.
