Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington
My sister is currently living and working in Washington State, her employer has not payed her or payed properly in four paychecks. Today she gets news that they aren't paying when they claimed due to a system mess up. She has no money to survive off of, what are her legal options to get payed as soon as possible for as cheep as possible, preferable free.

If she wants to be paid as soon as possible, a letter from an attorney would help, but that is not particularly cheap.
Otherwise, she can turn to the Dept of Labor and Industries for help. The feedback I have received from my clients is that they are slow, however.
If she is not being paid, she probably also qualifies for unemployment. She may want to start drawing and look for another position full time. This employer sounds like they have a real problem and the job may not be there that much longer anyway.
