Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

Unemployment appeal

I have an unemployment appeal on 8/13/07 and am looking for any information, advice, key words that can help me with the process. I was accused of not doing billing and putting the company in jepordy,

I was with the company for 6 months, never received a letter of warning, never signed anything, what can I expect and what can I do to be ready for this appeal? Thank you.

Re: Unemployment appeal

If you go to the Employment Security website, look around - they've got all their decisions online. Call them if you can't find it and ask them where it is, or ask for the decisions on disc.

Find the website by starting here: access.wa.gov and going to agencies.

As for the hearing, just be calm, poised, well-dressed, and tell the truth. If you have any written evidence of anything, bring it. You'll have an opportunity to cross-exam the other side, so write down questions in advance so you don't forget.

You're also allowed to bring witnesses, but usually have to tell the judge and the other side first.

If you go to the website for the Office of Administrative Hearings there is a ton of information about hearings - it's really easy to understand, too.

Best of luck!
