Can I sue my land lord for not having his rental property up to building inspections code wiley residing in rental home?

The short answer is yes, but it depends on you having first given the landlord notice of the problem if the landlord did not know, unless there is evidence to show the landlord knew or should have known the property was out of compliance with the code. Going to trial on something like this will require documentation or verifiable evidence beyond your testimony or that of your friends. You need either disinterested third parties to testify or the landlord to admit in writing or under oath that they knew or should have known the property was out of compliance for you to get anywhere with a case.
