Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Washington

A veterinary clinic I used to work for is under investigation for controlled drugs being missing. I have provided information to the dept of health regarding an ex girlfriend that is involved in the theft. When being interviewed I was asked if I had any ''solid'' proof of her involvement. I said not that I can think of, however, I do have proof in a way that may implicate me. When the ''ex'' left me I became clinically depressed and overdosed on drugs (diazepam and torbugesic) from the clinic that were left at my house. I was hospitilized and the drugs are in my medical record. I did not steal the drugs, I have not worked for the clinic for almost 2 years. I am unsure as to if I should ''confess'' this to the investigator or if I should just provide the information in regards to what they have asked about.

You need to speak with a criminal defense lawyer yesterday, and in-person, not online. You characterized your question as "medical malpractice," which it appears it is not. Also, don't post anything else like this publicly, in case there should be any criminal liability. But don't make any decisions about this based on just email communications -- like I said, you need to visit with a good criminal defense lawyer, to be safe on the matter, and to understand your situation clearly and take action accordingly.
