Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

Injury in apartment rental....fell through door

About 2 wks. ago, as I was unlocking & opening my apt. door, I fell through as I pushed it open. The middle collapsed & injured myself on the bottom frame. Caused a labial contusion which became infected and had to be cut and drained at local emergency room. I have no insurance and think that property owners are at fault. I've not contacted the owners as of yet. I don't know what to do. I'm also behind in payment of rent. Does this matter? I'm missing days of work and am scared of bills that I can't afford to pay. Please help me understand what is to be done. Thank you.

Your late rent means nothing. You may well have a valid lawsuit against your landlord and against the manufacturer of the door.

You need to contact an attorney authorized to handle cases in Washington. I suggest you contact Linda Williams at [email protected].
