Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in West Virginia

Daughter out of control on crack

A friend who lives in WV has a 17 year old daughter. Friend has physical custody of daughter. Daughter is on drugs and has been physically abusive to mother. Daughter is currently staying with step-father who is active drug user. Mother wants to know about going to court and having daughter put in a long term drug rehab in either WV or one of the 4 surrounding states if this is possible. If not, is there any other reasonable options for this mother to try and save her daughter.

She can probably have her daughter involuntarily committed, at least for a short period of time. Your friend needs to consult a substance abuse professional in her state to see what resources are available.
