Legal Question in Business Law in Wisconsin

licence and verification

Im about to start my new business, based on administrative help and services to acquire

Green Card and Citizenship. This service will offer help for correct filling and understanding and submitting of all necessary official paper forms.

Do I have to have license for this service and if I have to who issues it?

Am I under some special obligations if I do this thorough WEB?

Re: licence and verification

Depending upon what precise "services" you plan on offering, you may need to be a licensed attorney to perform them. Many times explaining how to fill out a form, or explaining the need for the form and the inforation requested, is considered practicing law. You may also want to check with the Immigration and Naturalization Service to determine what, if any, registration requirements they have.

Hello, I agree with Roy's comments. Also, as he points out you may need licenses from the state for the kind of business you are going into. Also think about tax filings and accounting, while not strictly legal issues, will get you into legal trouble if you dont attend to them. Finally, if you have employees, there will be special requirements on the state level to comply with. Good luck, Mark J. Mahoney, 920-984-4529

Re: licence and verification

You are dealing with a very legal area and unless you are an attorney, you may be practicing law without a license if you enter into doing what you describe.
