Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Wisconsin

Collection on a NSF check

3 years ago I wrote a check that was sent back NSF. I was contacted by a Fl. collection agency about it and than I paid the check and fees.

Last fall I was contacted by a Seattle Wa. collection firm who wants me to again pay that check and says I have two more.

So besides the 3 checks they want me to pay their fees and interest

2 or 3 times I have written and asked them to send me xerox copies of these checks to show me proof of my signature and that these checks do exist.

They have yet to send me copies and keep calling me and biling me for them.

Do I just have to pay their fees and interest or do they have to prove to me first that this is a legimate collecton?

Re: Collection on a NSF check

Various technical defenses may be available,

but in the meanwhile, it is essential that

you dispute the collection in a timely

fashion. You should then get a lawyer as soon

as possible.
