Child support

I am currently going through a divorce and im getting 29% of my gross income taken i have three kids. I currently make $15.36 an hour im gonna be moving to another city where i will try to get a job at the same rate but if i cant will i still have to pay the amount that was assigned even if i dont make 15.36 i was told i would still have to pay the same even though id be making less is this true?

This depends on the reason for moving and taking a different job. If you can establish that your changing jobs is beyond your control and/or that you are taking the actions you are taking for good reasons and in good faith your support should be adjusted to reflect your new income. You will have to file a motion, however, to do this and the support cannot be changed retroactively.

So do not wait to file the motion, your support amount cannot be changed until you file the motion. Be prepared to give the decision maker all documentation and justification you have for the move and change.
