Because of it he can't collect un-employment and have a child and a wife to help support. He is currently looking for a job. I was just wondering if u could do something like that.

Re: Friend's ?

Hello,

If your friend was fired, he gets unemployment, if he quit he does not. What happens is he files for unemployment, if he is denied benefits, he has a few days to file an appeal.

If he appeals on time, a hearing is setup at which a judge will decide, after listening to him and his employer, whether he quit or was fired. He can go to the hearing by himself, or have an attorney help him. The attorney can charge no more than 10% of the total benefits he can get.
