Legal Question in Employment Law in Wisconsin
Theft by contractor
We have a contractor that we paid in full to do a job on our dairy farm. He has not shown up to do the job and will not return any phone calls. We have been instructed to contact the district attornies office and file a complaint for theft by contractor (by a friend, who has had personal experiece with something similiar). Is this the right step to be taking or is there something else we should do. The amount of the check was for $2,400.

Yes you should contact the police and district attorney. Also, you could sue the contractor in small claims court.
