Dear Sir / Madam,

The Branch Manager at the State Bank of India cannot refuse the claim of Jayaram's legal heirs on all the contents of his locker ... his Fixed Deposit receipts, jewels and all other contents in the locker on the pretext that the Bank does not have records of the FDs. The executor of Jayaram's estate has to ensure that all his legal heirs get a fair share of the FD as on the date of encashment requested by the executor. At the most, the option before the Branch Manager of the concerned Branch, can credit the A/c of the beneficiaries, instead of giving cash across the counter. A request in writing on the above lines is recommended.
