Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

Sir, My neighbour started a petrol pump recently and is creating disturbance to us by depositing waste in our land, cutting trees in our boundary when we are not at home etc. I talked to the petroleum company but they told once the pump is started operations they cannot do anything from their side. We haven't given them any written consent to start the pump but when police came for verification we told them we do not have any objection provided they do not disturb us. The petroleum company told me that any written or oral consent is considered valid and based on that the district collector would have given the NOC to start the pump. We deliberately did not give the consent in writing because they were asking us to include a clause that in future if needed we are ready to give them 5 cents of our land. So what can we do now to stop them disturbing us [we do not have any intention to stop the pump but we need our peace of mind]?

Dear Sir / Madam,

You should ensure that your plot is cordoned off from all the sides and especially the common wall separating your plot of land from the neighbour's plot of land has a upright high barbed wire fencing over and above the wall height, so that your neighbour cannot dump any waste in your plot. If you have a manned security for your house, you should instruct the Security guard to maintain a strict vigil so that any dump thrown into your plot is immediately reported vide an FIR to the Police.

Regards,
