You are correct both ways as per your statement and court's order and this is the only meaning of dasti service I.e. by hand

"Dasti" service means by hand through "process server" appointed by the court. You need to approach the local civil court of the area and submit the 'dasti" summons there. The court will appoint a process server to serve "dasti" on the respondents. You may accompany the "process server". However, the "dasti" service orders does not entitle you to directly approach the respondent with the summons.

If you will read the summons carefully, you will find the court has addressed the same to the local civil court with direction to serve upon the respondent.

The opinions given above, with due request to my friends, do not appear to be correct in law.
