Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

Hi sir,

My brother has borrowed some 1,10,000 from his friend and paid 49,000 back.

A week before his friend complained in police station and then police called

my brother and threatened him. Then my brother signed in a non judicial

paper stating that he will pay back the amount by June 10. But now my brother

is in Qatar and needs some 3 to 6 month to pay the money back.

Now I received a call from same police station and he speaks to me in a

threatening manner stating he will held me responsible as I have signed

as a witness in that same paper.

Can you Please suggest me What are my rights and how should I react for it?

I am a same citizen like others who do not know the actual law which people

take for granted.

But for every problem there is a solution and that has brought me to your page.

Can you please assist me.
