In case of 489-F accused can record statement under section 265-f(5) or not (written statement). Even accused present in court in each date. or It is mandatory to record statement and jirah in front of court.

he can lead defense evidence. it is not written statement, it is oral deposition before court.

yes, his personal attendance is essential unless his attendance is dispense with.
