Legal Question in Family Law in India

we are two brother, father is no more and mother has live with my elder brother. I have got very good understanding with my brother & mother but my wife is very clever , she wants that i should not make any expense on my family rather she said that she has claim on my mother property.She has already taken his jewelry from my family and kept with her. If i am not willing to my mother property , can my wife go ahead legally?

I am appreciating you for staying with your elder brother's family mother your wife and yourself in a joint family. Your wife can not claim any share in the property at your residence. As your wife she can enjoy the facilities in the joint family. But only at point she can havs a right in your mothers share if your wife has received any giftdeed from your mothet or any wi in favour of your wife by your mother ( the chances for these two are remote).So do not be over anxious about this.
