Legal Question in Family Law in India

my brother -in law wife file case under 498a ,case against him,mother,me & my wife. me & my wife working in abroad, as per compliant in marriage we demand for dowry, where as me & my wife were in abroad on the day of marriage. we were not leaving together, if we comes to india, can i come back to my work which in abroad?
