Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi, I have filed for maintenance because am unemployed right now though I worked in past before marriage. Now iam getting some opportunity nt sure about employment ..can i work after telling court that I can't maintain myself hence seeking from husband ? Will it violate my previous statement? Also i have threats to life from husband if I leave house for work what can i do in this matter to be safe in legal battle n from husband also?
