Legal Question in Family Law in India

I wish to marry my first cousin and both the families have also accepted provided the marriage is legal. We are both adults and have mutually accepted for the marriage. We belong from tamil brahmin community where marriage between cross cousins is a practice although parallel cousin marriage is void.Even though Both the relation fall under the category of first cousins. Kindly suggest a way so that we can be legally united.

In case we have to convert for the purpose of marriage, we are ready to do that as well. We wish you to know the procedure for the same and if there are any other provisions by which the marriage can be legal.

If as per your customs you can marry then where is the hitch?/But if it is void in your custom then it is a void marriage and no amount of conversion will make the marriage legal.you may check if the same would be acceptable under the muslim law.
