I want to file a federal lawsuit in Los Angelos. What is the name of the court in which I'd file a complaint?

The name of the federal trial-level court that serves Los Angeles is the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Since you categorized your question under Personal Injury and Tort Law, I should also mention that you cannot file a personal injury or tort case in federal court unless the amount you claim is over $75,000.00 and you are a citizen of a different state from all the persons and entities you are suing. So if you are a California citizen, every defendant you sue must be a citizen of some other state. Also, if you sue for over $75,000.00 and you win, but are awarded less than $75,000.00 the court can deny your costs and charge you with the court costs of the defendants, even though they lost. That is to prevent people from suing in federal court on claims that don't really qualify.

Not to be offensive but if you are asking that question you are likely not competent to draft and file a federal law suit. I highly recommend that you at least consult with an attorney first to prevent wasting time and money. Best of luck!
