Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

I hail from Huballi in Karnataka (India). My late father had made few properties for children and my mother in the name of my brother, myself, my sister and my mother. All our names are appearing as joint owners in all the properties and I have copies of few property documents which I procured through my own source and online.

Now, my brother who has sold many of my joint family properties fraudulently (case going on in Hubli Court), is refusing to give me copies of all the properties and I have instituted a case through a Partition Suit.

I am unable to understand that when the properties are in my joint name and my name is appearing in the documents as a joint owner, can my brother threaten me and deprive me of my rights and I am forced to institute partition suit to get my OWN properties.

Kindly advise me if there is any other channel to get my properties/share fast and without court proceedings.

regards,

even if you have title deeds of a property that is joint in nature, you simply act as a custodian and the property would devolve by inheritance and survivorship.
