Legal Question in Consumer Law in Alabama

How much time to return a used car purchase

I recently purchased a car from a dealer and while purchasing was told the intrest rate which was incredibly high.I told the dealer I would not accept that interest rate and wanted to check with my bank for financing. The dealer said that was fine and to go ahead and sign the papers and check with my bank and it would be no problem to have them finance it.The next day I checked with my bank and found that I would have to come to the bank to finance the car.(I have recently moved from huntsville to birmingham and am currently still using huntsville bank)There is no way for me to take off work any time soon to do this and I was wondering if I could just take the car back and null the deal untill a future date.I have had the car less than 24 hours.

Was the car new or used? Did the dealer say you could return it? If so, in writing? I had this happen with a client of mine, and when they took the car back, the dealer wouldn't take it so they left it there. The dealer dropped it off at my client's home. I wrote the dealer, and they decided to pick up the vehicle and void the deal. They could sue you for damages, but not for specific performance.
