does a fathers attitude toward the mother and unborn baby affect his visitation rights if the parents are not married?

Well it depends on how that attitude transfers to actions. First of all, I would suggest that you register with the Father's Putative Registry with the State Department of Human Resources to preserve your rights. If you do not, you waive the rights and she can give the baby up for adoption. It will further result in problems at a later date should she name another father. Also, I would suggest that immediately after birth you file a petition for paternity. It sounds as if you may be having some reservations about those attitudes now.
