Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

I have filed for divorce per se. My husband's attorney just sent me the answer to my complaint and a proposed agreement for the divorce. In the answer to the summons he states that he neither denies or admits to the allegations in the complaint and demands strict proof. We were married on December 7, 2009. We separated on February 16, 2010. Can he answer the complaint in this manner? What happens next? What does all this mean? I live in Jefferson County, Alabama in Birmingham.

Yes that is the general way, just give a general denial. Now the next step would be to engage in discovery or settlement. Get a court date from the Judge's office. If it is a case in which there are no children and no mortgage or real property, it should be easy to reach a settlement. But if children and child support are involved, you may need further legal assistance.
