Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

I took my car to a detail shop less than a mile from my house. when I went back to pick up my car they could not find my keys. There are several questionable people working at this place. I have almost six grand in aftermarket audio & performance parts on the car and I am not sertain that the keys where actualy lost. On the keyring were key to my Car,Truck, Boat, Home, & Office. I sat there for 7 hours while they 'looked' for my keys. I had my car towed to the dealer & had a key cut $200.00 as i only had one key , I rekeyed my home & office myself to be safe about another $250.00. to replace my truck key is around $250.00 my wife had a key also so we still have one key & transmiter, But I really would like them to have my car & truck rekeyed so the old ones will no longer work. this is about $900.00 per car. are they liable for all this are only to replace keys or what? Thanks in advance?

This is a question in bailment. THey kept your keys to be able to work on your car. They lost your keys. You have to replace your keys to make sure your property is secure. They should be liable for replacing the keys. It gets really expensive with electronic keys, but they should be more careful with the keys they take from customers
