You are entitled to have your medical bills paid by the company through workers compensation. In addition, if you have a permanent injury, you may be entitled to compensation through the workers compensation. You may also have a claim against the co-employee for intentional and/or willful conduct. If that is successful, you might be able to recover compensatory and punitive damages. Compensatory damages include pain and suffering. Punitive damages are intended to punish the wrongdoer. The problem will arise with respect to the insurance. The co-employee may not be covered for such an act, and you cannot sue your employer for the act because of the workers compensation statute.
