Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

When the DOC hold is lifted

I have been given a new trial upon appeal of conviction, and have been serving 14 mos of the sentence while waiting on appeal to finish. The DOC has custody until the courts 'vacating sentence'' is processed and I can be released. There are no charges stated, only the hold. When I was brought up for hearing, the judge set a 10,000 bond What is the 10,000 bond for? My parent posted it, but the hold barred me from being bonded. Can they get the bond money back if there are no charges filed?

Re: When the DOC hold is lifted

This can happen if the right hand does not know what the left one is doing. I have dealt with this situation on numerous occasions and am confident that I could quickly get it resolved. Also, and perhaps of greater importance, is to avoid a re-commitment to DOC when the case is retried. Contact me directly to discuss this matter further.
