owners' rights of seized vehicles
My vehicle was seized in a drug transporting case, unknowingly to me. The charges were dropped, and no convictions, but the vehicle hasn't been released to me. Seeing that the charges were dropped, shouldn't it be released?

It depends. Usually when a vehicle is being civilly forfeited, the gov't has to send you certain official paperwork. If not the car is being held for some evidentiary purpose on an unlawful basis. Charges of this type tend not to go away and are usually part of a larger investigation.
