what age is appropriate for a child to decided what parent they want to live with according to Arizona state law?

There is no hard fast rule in Arizona. The court will consider the wishes of a child as part of an overall assessment of the best interests of the child. The older the child, the more weight arguably the court will give. The child will not testify however. The child's statements would come in through a custody evaluator or counselor from Conciliation Services.
