Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My son's girlfriend, mother of their son, was arrested for domestic battery against my son. My son has a TPO against her. Kingman police now say he-and we the grandparents-cannot see his son (our grandson) for a year when the TPO is lifted. Is that true? He doesn't want to retract the TPO because she has been violent with him, even trying to slash his throat, since just before the baby was born this past December. What do we do? We'd love to see our grandson.

I disagree with the police 100% on this topic. Your son and you as the grandparents should immediately seek court intervention. Your son can file for full custody. You as the grandparents have the options of grandparent visitation. I would however like much more information regarding the case. We offer free consultations for up to 30 minutes. Feel free to schedule if you need further assistance. 623-748-8973. Best of luck!
