Legal Question in Employment Law in Arizona

What medical information can an employer require?

My employer recently instituted a new policy that requires all employees to immediately notify the Personnel Department supervisor of any medications prescribed by a physician that may effect them at work or that may produce a positive result on a random drug screening.

Is this legal? What if naming the medication would reveal a medical condition that the employer would otherwise have no right to know about? What are my employer's obligations once they have this information?

I do think there are issues over your employer's actions. While I think it is possible if you do something like drive heavy machinery, otherwise, I think it may be unalwful for them to do so. They should first have implemented a policy and that policy should probably not be retroactive(affect people who have already been working there).
