Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Arizona

Rights of the Accused

I have been falsely accused of sexual harrasment. I have just been informed of this. What are my specific rights and what should I do to protect myself from erroneous charges and a hostile work environment after I am (hopefully) released from the charges?

Re: Rights of the Accused

Wel, assuming the company you work for has more han 15 employees, they will be required to perform some time of investigation. Your company should have a sexual harassment policy. Check their first. I there is an investigation, you will have the right to make a statement. Be careful what is said and to whom. You may want to consult with a lawyer before you make statements but that is certainly up tp you. The real queston becomes whether they desire to terminate you-then right may or may not be at issue-questions arise such as are you an employee at will or do you have a contract requiring termination for cause only? Also, will this person desire to sue you and/or the company? The other erights are at issue.

I know this does not specifically answer your question- but that question really cannot be answered in specifics. Makre sure you check company policies first.
