Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Discontinuing Child Support Payments

I am paying child support on two children, 13 and 15 years of age. At what age do the payments end, and how do I go about Stopping them? Will I have to return to court to reduce the payment from two to one child?

Reduction in Child Support

Typically child support orders are in effect until the child(ren) reach 18, or if they were still in high school. In some states that might continue if the child went on to college. You would need to go to court to reduce your payments as each child reaches the majority age, but in most states that is something you could do yourself. The family court usually has a form that you can fill out and file.
