Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

Two wives?

My husband and I have been seperated for almost 2 years. I've started the divorce process, but it's not yet finalized. He got married in Arkansas a few months ago to someone else. I know the marriage isn't legal, but i'm curious if there are any criminal chrges for this? Also, will the records office where he filed his new marriage licence find out about the previous marriage? We were also married in Arkansas. Any information on this subject would be appreciated. Thank You.

Bigamy is being married to more than 1 person at a time. It is a crime.

It is unlikely that the records office will find out that he is married to 2 people. They would have to also search divorces to know who had or hadn't been divorced. I don't believe they do that, as a normal matter of practice.
