Missing Work for Sick Chil

One of my friends has missed a lot of work due to a sick child (he has a chronic illness). The employer has told her if she keeps missing work for this she needs to find another job? Can he do this? There are 12 employees in the business.

Unfortunately, with only 12 employees the Family and Medical Leave Act will not apply to the employer. This means that the federal law does not help.

There may be some state law that could be of assistance to your friend. To determine this, your friend needs to contact an Arkansas attorney to review the situation.
